UN PO’ DI STORIA…

La Canottieri Ferrara viene fondata nel 1911.
Nel 1913 è avvenuta la prima affiliazione alla Federazione Italiana Canottaggio.
25 maggio 1927: inaugurazione della sede sociale estiva a Pontelagoscuro (fra i due ponti).
21 marzo 1938: all’epoca la sede invernale era situata a San Giorgio, la sede estiva a Pontelagoscuro e la sede amministrativa in Via Romei, 1.
Ed ancora: iscritta alla Reale Federazione Italiana Canottaggio, iscritta al CONI.
2 aprile 1947: richiesta di versamento a fondo perduto per ripristinare la sede estiva di Pontelagoscuro (distrutta durante un bombardamento aereo) con la somma di 2.000£ a socio. I lavori impegneranno una spesa totale di quasi 1.000.000£, metà a carico della sezioe motonautica e l’altra metà a carico dei canottieri.
24 giugno 1951: inaugurazione della nuova sede di Pontelagoscuro, luogo in cui è situata ancora la SCF dei giorni nostri.

ATTIVITÀ SPORTIVA RECENTE

L’attività sportiva agonistica e amatoriale è sempre stata praticata, perlomeno fino ai primi anni ’70, epoca in cui il settore nuoto raggiungeva il vertice con formidabili nuotatori tra cui i fratelli Mauro e Antonio Gherardi. Anche la motonautica sportiva era in quel momento al top. L’attività remiera andava, invece, lentamente scomparendo. Riprenderà poi nel 1993 . Da quel momento in poi le partecipazioni di equipaggi della Canottieri Ferrara alle regate sono andate aumentando costantemente. L’attività giovanile vera e propria è cominciata nel 1994/95. Il 2003 è stato l’anno della prima comparsa in azzuro con la partecipazione di Nicola Bari come capovoga sull’otto ad Hazewinkel (Belgio) per i campionati europei juniores (Coupe de la Jeneusse). Il 2007 è stato l’anno delle prime regate di Coastal Rowing: specialità ultima nata in Italia che prevede, grazie all’uso di apposite imbarcazioni, regate in mare aperto con mare anche a forza 4.senior femminile formato da Laura Pozzati, Silvia Marino, Mela Flora e Lisa Casadei conquista il terzo posto. Nel luglio 2007 la Società è stata premiata con un contributo CONI Regionale, unica società di Ferrara e provincia a ricevere il premio. Sempre nello stesso anno, Elettra Pareschi, è stata premiata dal Panathlon Club per meriti sportivi. Il 15/16 dicembre, a Tirrenia, in occasione dell’Assemblea delle Società Remiere Italiane,. Nel 2010, il 31 di gennaio, Luca Rambaldi conquista il titolo di campione italiano di Indoor Rowing a Bari. Decine i titoli regionali conquistati dai nostri atleti in tutte le categorie dal 1994 al 2010. Nel giugno 2010, ancora Luca Rambaldi si aggiudica il 2° posto ai campionati italiani a Piediluco (TR).

A bit of history

The Canottieri Ferrara was founded in 1911.
The club first joined the Italian Rowing Federation in 1913.
May 25, 1927: inauguration of the summer club headquarters in Pontelagoscuro (between the two bridges).
March 21, 1938: at the time, the winter club headquarters were located in San Giorgio, the summer club headquarters in Pontelagoscuro, and the administrative headquarters at Via Romei, 1.
And again: registered with the Royal Italian Rowing Federation, registered with CONI.
April 2, 1947: request for a non-repayable grant to restore the summer club headquarters in Pontelagoscuro (destroyed during an air raid) with the sum of £2,000 per member. The work will cost a total of almost £1,000,000, half of which will be paid by the powerboating section and the other half by the rowers.
June 24, 1951: inauguration of the new headquarters in Pontelagoscuro, where the SCF is still located today.

Recent sports activity

Competitive and amateur sports have always been practiced, at least until the early 1970s, a time when swimming reached its peak with formidable swimmers including the brothers Mauro and Antonio Gherardi. Powerboat racing was also at the top of its game at the time. Rowing, however, was slowly disappearing, only to resume in 1993. From then on, Canottieri Ferrara crews’ participation in regattas has steadily increased. Youth activity proper began in 1994/95. 2003 was the year of the first appearance for the Italian team, with Nicola Bari participating as coxswain in the eight in Hazewinkel (Belgium) for the European Junior Championships (Coupe de la Jeneusse). 2007 was the year of the first Coastal Rowing regattas: a new discipline in Italy that uses special boats to race on open water, even in force-four seas. The senior women’s team, consisting of Laura Pozzati, Silvia Marino, Mela Flora, and Lisa Casadei, took third place. In July 2007, the club was awarded a regional CONI grant, the only club in Ferrara and its province to receive the award. That same year, Elettra Pareschi was honored by the Panathlon Club for sporting merit. On December 15-16, in Tirrenia, during the Assembly of Italian Rowing Clubs, In 2010, on January 31st, Luca Rambaldi won the Italian Indoor Rowing Championship title in Bari. Our athletes won dozens of regional titles in all categories from 1994 to 2010. In June 2010, Luca Rambaldi again took second place at the Italian Championships in Piediluco (TR).

Other sports activities practiced by the Club include: sport fishing, recreational boating, tennis, beach volleyball, and summer swimming lessons.
